[Damn, this robot must be seriously advanced. She talks just like a cheery schoolgirl or something. Does that count as a scientific achievement...?]
Excellent. I'll be waiting.
[... he says, but really there's no way he's going to get there first. Between gods being able to teleport and him not quite knowing the area yet, it still takes him quite a bit longer to trace his steps back to the street they first met up on. At least she gave him some landmarks to work with.
And a bright pink robot should be easy to spot, so surely he won't have any trouble finding her.]
[Sorry Add but between knowing exactly where she's going and the teleporting, she is easily there waiting. But that doesn't stop her from looking around to try and find him. Instead of a bright pink robot with neon lights; there's a teenage girl.
The moment she spots the mop of white hair and the rest of him she's skipping over, waving]
Add-san!!! Add-san!! Hello!
[She beams brightly, coming to a stop in front of him]
[He hears Hajime before he sees her... mainly because he looks around, confused, trying to spot the familiar robotic figure. That's her voice calling to him, isn't it? Eventually, his eyes fall uncertainly on the source of the voice. He stares. This person must be...]
Hajime? [He's in utter disbelief. This is the same Hajime?? That can't be right, can it? But... but she was such a perfect looking machine!
... She could still be a machine, though, right? He can't completely rule out the option yet. No, he doesn't want to rule it out so easily! He wants to believe his perfect, cooperative and sentient machine that he hoped for is real...!
Without another word of greeting, Add performs the first test that comes to him instinctively. He takes a step closer to her, looming with a serious expression, hands held out, and...
He touches her ears.
Very intently. Like he just has to make sure they're normal, human-shaped ears. For science.]
[Sure was Add a bit of an odd ball their first meeting but this action comes off as even more strange. She blinks as he touches her ears. Their eyes meet as she just stares back at him looking a bit confused.]
Add-san? Are you okay?
[She doesn't stop him but instead decides to mimic the gesture and touch his ears too. What does this mean??? she has no idea but maybe its something weird that he likes???]
[... Those are definitely human ears. There's really no doubt about it. Hajime... isn't a cool robot.
Part of him is disappointed, of course. He's met a couple cyborgs, one of which is almost fully robotic, but no full machines yet. It would be really exciting to meet a machine that's also a god. But mostly, he's embarrassed that he let himself get so caught up in his fantasies that he didn't consider the situation rationally. Hajime was simply too human-like to expect from a real machine. Even if she looked like one when they first met, that isn't enough evidence to prove it... he should've been more forthcoming, asked more questions at the start before making any hasty conclusions. He's more disappointed in himself than he is about the situation.
Anyway, he comes back to his senses once he realizes Hajime is touching his ears (they're slightly pointy, but nothing else out of the ordinary).
... Isn't doing something like this to a human kind of weird? If it's a machine it's no big deal, but he's just now coming to the realization that he grabbed the face of a human girl...
Add's face goes bright red. Panicking a little, he pulls his hands away from Hajime abruptly and takes a step back.]
S-sorry, it's... I was just surprised. Your appearance.
[... that's not even a real sentence. He clears his throat awkwardly, folding his arms to keep them occupied.] You looked different before. I wasn't expecting it.
[Hajime lets go once he steps back, not wanting to pull on his ears. It is kind of cool how they're pointed though! She stands there, hands still held out for a moment before she slowly lowers them. When did Add become shy. It's kind of cute. Weird! but cute!]
Huh? My appearance?
[She blinks and looks at herself. Did she change and grow a tail or something. She does a small twirl not seeing anything different about herself. She even pats herself down lightly before looking back to him. The lightbulb clicks on as he continues]
That's right! You met me as a Gatchaman!!
[She smiles brightly once again and bigs into her pocket taking out a small notebook. She holds it by her cheek]
I can transform if you want, Add-san. I don't mind!
[Her naivety and cheerfulness was kind of intriguing to him when he thought she was a machine, but now he's starting to think she's the weird one. Is she acting like this on purpose? Is it some kind of joke he's not in on??
... but it's hard to get irritated with her.
Not because he thinks that kind of personality is endearing or anything, but because she's pulling out a strange little book and asking if he wants her to "transform".
Ah, that's right. When she introduced herself the first time she called herself a "Gatchaman". He didn't think too hard about it then, but is it referring to this other appearance of hers? ... is she perhaps still some sort of cyborg, or at least capable of utilizing advanced technology?? Even if she's not a machine herself, the likelihood of her still being interesting to him is very high.]
That's... [not necessary, but you could tell me more about it— bah, who is he kidding?! He wants to see the robot again—] Yes, show me how this "transformation" works.
[She's not sure why her appearance is bothering to Add. Maybe it was just weird to meet someone that looked different? Her G-101 suit did look really different then how she did now. So transforming for him seemed like a quick and easy fix to the problem.]
Biirrrrd.... [She holds the NOTE high in the air before bringing it down to her cheek once again but this time it glows and becomes transparent.]
GO!
[There's a flash of light, almost blinding but once it fades there stands G-101. The neon lights flick on to life. The NOTE is gone but closer look will show its actually on her back now.]
[He's not sure what he was expecting, but the blinding flash makes the whole experience a bit frustrating. Even with his modified eyes, he can't make out much of anything through that bright light, and once it fades she's already switched to her more familiar form, complete with glowing neon lights and that mask-like expression.
It's impossible to say how the transformation occurred through observation, but it's still extremely fascinating.]
Summoned armour using an external device... the execution is quick, so it must be designed for combat even in unexpected situations... maybe some kind of dimensional storage system...?
[He mumbles to himself some more, desperately wishing he'd brought some sort of video recorder or a notebook or something—ah! Why didn't he bring anything like that?! He should've planned ahead a little longer instead of rushing to the scene!
But it's too late to run back and grab something like that now, so he'll just have to make do.
He takes another step closer to get a better look, though when he instinctively reaches out to touch it... he hesitates, awkwardly folding his arms instead. It's really tempting, but there's a girl under that robotic suit, so... maybe he'll wait for a chance when she takes it off again.]
How does it work? Obviously the suit is transported using the device, but it still needs to be stored somewhere to allow such quick access...
[That's all she can give you Add sorry! She touches her chest plate.]
J.J made me into a Gatchaman by pulling my NOTE out of my body here. Super weird, right? Ever since then I've been able to "Birrrd, Go!" and transform!
[She even mimics the little motion once more just to show him. Hajime really doesn't understand the mechanics behind it all. Just it all works and that her G101 suit is a reflection of her being. Her NOTE, the Designer NOTE, is her. ]
Yep! Stuck his hand into my chest and pulled it out! It acutally hurt a lot when he did it but right after its like nothing happened! My NOTE was with me and It was after that I was able to become a Gatchaman!
[She pats the spot again as if to confirm his question. There's a thoughtful silence that follows before and looks back to him.]
Ah! But it doesn't hurt or anything, no worries Add-san!
But you are human, right? Aside from being a god, I mean. [He doesn't so sound sure of anything anymore. Ugh, if this turns out to be some ridiculous thing like magic... if it runs on magic, how is he supposed to get any satisfaction out of studying it??
He's still preparing the next round of questions in his mind when the topic is unexpectedly changed. About him?
... well, he has been questioning her quite thoroughly, but he hasn't really said anything about himself yet. Still...]
I'm a shinki, so there isn't a lot I can tell you.
Then tell me what you know! You're super interesting too, Add-san! Just cause you're a shinki doesn't change that! Hobbies, fav foods, colors and anything else!
[Don't mind her as she leans in towards him, neon eyes shiny bright]
I think im human....but different! Gatcha~! No one has really asked this much about it before so I don't know how to give you the answers you want!
[He does mind a little this time around, leaning away from her to match. Even if he still wants a good look at that strange mask of hers...
He turns his head to the side, trying to seem more aloof than nervous.]
Well, without any memory of my past life, I can't exactly answer your questions freely. Most of that information is unknown to me as well. All I can say with certainty is that I have a strong affinity for machines and technology. [And an equally strong dislike for physical exertion... but saying something like that wouldn't sound cool. And he hasn't really sampled enough foods to know what his favourites are, especially after those stupid ayakashi ruined chocolates for him...
He briefly glances down at his own weird clothing. Well, at least one of those questions has an easy answer.] Purple is alright, I guess.
