[So it was just a random whim? That doesn't make any sense. Didn't Roxas say himself that he's an AI program? Something like that shouldn't act so unpredictably. There has to be more of a reason to it. Is he trying to hide his real motive? Add silently frets, feeling more awkward the more he tries to figure it out. He just can't accept that anyone would give a gift to someone like him without a good reason...
Eventually, he forces himself to sigh to break the silence, bending down to pick up the small robot. He brings it over to his desk so he can avoid facing at Roxas any longer.]
Was there anything else you came here for? ["Thank you" would be the right words for this scenario, but his mouth moves on its own before he can stop it.]
I thought I'd let you know I'll be out this afternoon, also.
[So Add would have free reign of the temple for a while. He thinks with something to tinker with, he'll probably be busy enough. Besides which, there's the way he already holes up in his room to begin with. It may well be that Add wouldn't have noticed that he and Ludger are gone...
But it seems like the sort of thing that he ought to say, since they live in the same place]
[So Roxas will be gone for the day. It doesn't seem like an important point to bring up. Why would Add care about what Roxas does in his free time? Add is fine with keeping to his own space, and it's not like he ever announces when he's going to be away...
Even if Roxas still manages to hunt him down sometimes, when he ends up staying out past dinner. Annoying.
... although, it's kind of nice to know that someone would notice if he didn't come back...
Thinking of that, and of the small robot sitting on the desk in front of him, he can't help but feel a pang of guilt. Is it just because he's his shinki...?]
... Fine. Do what you want. [He grips the edges of his desk tightly. Why is he getting so snippy?] You don't need my permission. If you want to go somewhere, just go. Leave a note if it bothers you so much. Don't waste my time with pointless interactions.
[There's nothing of emotion in the response, flatter even than his voice usually is. It's not as though Roxas can within reason be bothered - Add has no reason to remember why he would care about something like this. Has no reason to care for himself.
And yet, irrationally, it does gnaw at him. So his voice just becomes even more subdued than it already was.
Or maybe it's that stinging he's getting from Add for some reason. It could easily be that]
[His tone isn't angry, but it's still needlessly harsh and curt. He doesn't understand why he's acting like this. Something about being treated so thoughtfully...
He should at least say thank you... but it feels like it's too late now. It would just sound tacked on. Roxas hasn't said anything about it, so maybe he doesn't care if Add is grateful or not.]
[The dismissal is harsh, but Roxas knows better than to let it get to him too much. Reminds himself he knows better. And so he lingers just long enough to say one more thing]
Rin. Don't forget.
[And with that, he shuts Add's door quietly and sets off to get ready to answer that prayer with Ludger]
