[ the day started off quite normal, for the most part. ain was nowhere to be seen in the morning, though it's easy enough to assume that he had gone back to within the void close to the temple's core, as he usually does. add should be used to it by now - plus, if he ever needed ain to come, he could just call him.
and a relatively normal day it remains, until some sort of harsh geometric screeching pierces the silence in the temple. it's just for a moment, but add would be able to pinpoint exactly where it came from; if only because of a sharp pain that accompanies the sound, coming from a source that has never transmitted anything to him until now.
if add goes looking, he would find ain in the void, curled up into some sort of vine knot close to the core. he seems to have been impaled by several black spears, but upon closer examination they look the same as the dark skin covering most of his body. ]
